A book is page after page, different lengths, of information, facts, or entertainment. Filled with stories. Printed after written by an author. Google is the most reliable I think to find something that you can't find. I pretty much Google everything I don't know. I see a book as a story either being fiction or non fiction written and printed by someone.

1. My definition of a book: Paper that is bound together, that contain words in which a person is intended to read. A book can contain information that can be useful, or just stories to read for personal pleasure.
2. If I could not define the word book, I would look up the word in a realiable dictionary.
3. I use Google for some things if I am looking for information.
4. Sometimes I do not resort to Google because there is so much information that is on the internet that is not accurate or realiable. So I use a different route of finding information about that subject.
5. John Vivian views his book as an information tool, filled with word content. He wrote this book to help teach and inform people about communications.
6. A book is a useful tool, used for reading, to obtain knowledge or pleasure.

What is a book? My personal definition of a book would be a form of communication in which the author can tell a story, share information, or even express ideas and feelings. The dictionary definition of a book is: a written or printed work of fiction or nonfiction, usually on sheets of paper fastened or bound together within covers. (www.dictionary.com)
Do you google everything you don't know? I usually google everything I do not know, if I need a definition though, I go to dictionary.com.
John Vivian defines a book as a "long-form, word-driven media content." (p. 54)

It is literature printed or written on sheets of paper. The definition I got from dictionary.com is : a written or printed work of fiction or nonfiction, usually on sheets of paper fastened or bound together within covers. Yes I would say I google anything that I do not know already. As far as what John Vivian thinks a book is, in the book it says that a book is a long-form, word-driven media content. I think a book is any kind of information (fiction or nonfiction) put into words onto sheets of paper.

The definition of a book is a written work or composition that has been published. I go to google for everything. John Vivian's definition of a book is long-form, word-driven media content. And I think a book is a publishing that people read for many different reasons.

A book is a set or collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of paper, parchment, or other various material. If I couldn't find the definition of a book, I would look it up in the dictionary, or search for it on the internet. I google a lot of what I don't know but I wouldn't consider it everything. John Vivian considers a book a long form, word driven, media content. I think a book is a source of information, and can be a story or source of information.

My idea of what a book is something that has more then 10-20 pages and can be used for education or entertainment. The web defines a book as "pages bound together and usually published." I went to google to find the answer of what a book is outside of my own opinion. I tend to use google a lot however, I also use a source called Cha Cha where you can send a question via text to a number and they do the searching for me. Also I do not google everything due to research and using more reliable sources such as things ending in .edu .gov .org.

About Me

Springfield (Ill.), United States
I'm a retired English, journalism and cultural studies teacher at Springfield College in Illinois (acquired by Benedictine University and subsequently closed). I coordinate jam sessions for the "Clayville Pioneer Academy of Music" at Clayville Historic Site and the Prairieland Strings dulcimer club, and I sing in the choir and the contemporary praise team at Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield. On Hogfiddle I post links and video clips for our sessions and workshops on the mountain dulcimer (a.k.a. "hog fiddle"), as well as research notes on folklore and cultural studies, hymnody and traditional Anglo-Celtic and Scandinavian music. I also posted assignments and readings in my interdisciplinary humanities classes. The Mackerel Wrapper (now on hiatus), carried assignments and readings for my mass comm. students. I started teaching b/log when I chaired SCI-Benedictine's assessment committee, and reopened it as the privatization of public schools grew increasingly troubling and closer to home.
